RE-UPLOAD: Sleepchamber's The Sisters Of Mercy Tapes #10 - Schlachtof, Bremen, Germany - 08.11.1984 (Flac)
Here are 2 versions of this concert.
First is the "Before Darkness" Silver CD wich is incomplete but sounds better, the second is a
tape rip I did recently from the complete concert, sourced in an unknown generation tape, but
sounds very nice also. Thanks to sleepchamber for sending me his collection of tapes to rip and
share.

Siouxsie & The Banshees - Jaap Edenhal, Amsterdam, The Netherlands - 23.04.1986 (Flac)
Been a while since I posted some Banshees. Very good audience, Thanks to the original uploader on Dime.
Original info File:
The Jaap Edenhal is one of the most depressive venues i've ever
been to. I wouldn't be suprised if they keep cowmarkets there. It's a concrete hall, too high
and full of mobile fences all over. The crowd felt like being treated as cows, and spoilt
the atmosphere totally. Obviously Siouxsie sensed this as well, as she only played 1 encore
which resulted in a loud 'boooo' from the audience after she left the stage.
It's the 3rd SATB show i visited. This is 1 of the 3 dates she did in April on mainland.
The other 2 we're bootlegged as well on vinyl;
"Cities in dust" (Brussels 22/4/86)
"Bisquit Garden" (Cologne 24/4/86)
I bought this recording on cassette from a recordstore in Utrecht that sold various bootlegtapes.
I suppose they got the tapes from the person recording it, so it should be a master copy

The Cult - Reading Festival, Reading, UK - 26.08.2001 (Video and Audio)
This was one of these uploads on Dime that you understand imediatly that were going to be banned... and it was. I was able to get it before the ban, and listening to it remembered that I had downloaded from the net a rip of the source webcast video, but it was a decade ago... After searching for it on the mess that are all my hard drives, I finally found it...
I never saw a better version, so decided to share it here. Quality is what you would expect from a webcast of 2001 and the audio files are of course lossy sourced, even if they are in Flac.
Original Info File:

Marianne Faithfull - Tipitina's, New Orleans, LA, USA - 09.04.1990 (Flac)
Very good recording. Thanks to thee original uploader.
Original Info File:
Marianne Faithfull's show at Tipitina's, New Orleans, as broadcast on FM radio. DJ announcers have been edited out. Surprisingly, and happily, rude words have not been blipped out, even the "c---" in "Why d'ya do it?". The sound is not quite pristine FM, and lacks a bit of clarity, but is still good. The show is an acoustic one, played to an enthusiastic audience, which palpably creates more energy in the performance by Faithfull and her guitarist, Barry Reynolds. Most enjoyable.

RE-UPLOAD: Dead Can Dance - Woughton Centre, Milton Keynes, uk - 06.10.1984 (Flac)
Another early recording. Thanks to Josef for sharing it on DIME.
Original Info File:
A recording claiming to be this gig has been available for some time and a copy was recently seeded by Thingol (Dime seed number 216769). However that one has the wrong tracklisting and looks as though it's the Fulham gig, from the night before, minus the last track which was 'Threshold' (see seed number 216893).
Given this confusion it's unclear whether or not a 'proper' recording of Milton Keynes has done the rounds before, although RC was also there and almost certainly taped it.
Anyway, this was a low key gig outside London, supporting the Fall. Unlike Fulham the night before, I don't think it was advertised in the music press. DCD came on really early and mostly played to a small handful of bemused Fall fans.
I recorded this on the same dodgy Sony Professional that I used to tape Dead Can Dance at the Loughborough Hotel back in April 84. It was my mates machine. It plays up slightly for the first song here but not anyway nearly as badly as in Brixton. It barely affects the first song. I'll put a sample in 'comments'.
DCD were also due to support the Fall again at the Lyceum at the end of October but a sign outside the Lyceum said that they weren't playing and had split up. 1984 proved to be a tough year for the band - lots of good press but some really dodgy crowds at some gigs.
Enjoy

On the cover of LP, it says this performance was on July 27th, 1979, but I believe that date is inacurate. According to tomwaitslibrary.com, as well as etree, this performance was actually on July 26, 1979, so that is the date I am going with. Festivals Britannia - Documentary (576p)
Continuing the critically acclaimed Britannia music series for BBC Four, this documentary tells the story of the emergence and evolution of the British music festival through the mavericks, dreamers and dropouts who have produced, enjoyed and sometimes fought for them over the last 50 years.
The film traces the ebb and flow of British festival culture from jazz beginnings at Beaulieu in the late 50s through to the Isle of Wight festivals at the end of the 60s, early Glastonbury and one-off commercial festivals like 1972's Bickershaw, the free festivals of the 70s and 80s and on through the extended rave at Castlemorton in 1992 to the contemporary resurgence in festivals like Glastonbury, Isle of Wight and Reading in the last decade.
Sam Bridger's film explores the central tension between the people's desire to come together, dance to the music and build temporary communities and the desire of the state, the councils and the locals to police these often unruly gatherings.
At the heart of the documentary is an ongoing argument about British freedom and shifts in the political, musical and cultural landscape set to a wonderful soundtrack of 50 years of great popular music which takes in trad jazz, Traffic, Roy Harper, the Grateful Dead, Hawkwind, Orbital and much more.
Featuring rare archive and interviews with Michael Eavis, Richard Thompson, Acker Bilk, Terry Reid, the Levellers, Billy Bragg, John Giddings, Melvin Benn, Roy Harper, Nik Turner, Peter Jenner, Orbital, amongst others.
