Hi everybody! New recording for my collection.
The Sisters Of Mercy are one my favorites bands ever, but everybody knows they aren’t great live.
This was the fourth concert I’ve attended (first one in year 2000). I think this one was the best, the crowd was great and guitars has been very good.
Enjoy!

Prof. sez:
A very important bootleg, IMO, that begs for an official release. Reportedly, it was sourced from a cassette copy that a fan got directly from an BBC employee after writing a letter to inquire after the status of this recording. The BBC employee also mentioned that this came from his private copy and that video sources no longer existed in the archives.
The audio recording was first heard by the public in 1993 when it came out on a pressed CD bootleg in inferior quality. Then later in the mid-2000's it started to circulate in better quality. I first heard this in 2006 when someone uploaded it on Dime's tracker. Although pretty clean, that source was marred heavily by noise reduction artefacts. For this new version, I have used another source that I found on another tracker. It had more noises and also some signs of NR, but substantially less than the 2006 Dime source. I fear this is probably as good as it's gonna get, unless someone manages to obtain a clean digital copy of the BBC cassette, which to my knowledge is not into circulation.
Despite the obvious deterioration to the source material, the soundquality here has still turned out quite good. I have carefully restored and remastered this at my mastering studio. The original source sounded a bit dull.
By bringing up the high-end a bit, the NR problem and hiss also became more apparent, but I think I found an acceptable balance (to my taste, anyway). I also corrected the correct speed of the two original parts (one ran a bit too fast, the other a bit too slow).
To me, the historical importance outweighs the sonic flaws by far. Four songs performed here (not counting Tr. 06, which is more a joke than a song) were unreleased at the time, though already fully realized. Some of the arrangements are quite different from the studio versions and there's an extra unheard verse on Tr. 04.
Enjoy!

I got this cassette of Ebay in my quest to put as many old tapes as possible in to
circulation. I checked to see if this had previously been upped to Dime but couldn't
find it so hopefully this will be appreciated by fans of Killing Joke.
The recording is audience sourced and is very blistenable with very little hiss on it so it's
possibly a low gen copy. In all a pretty good recording so please enjoy.

Length - 79:22
Cassette(aud,master,TDK D90,recorded on Saisho PS 35R with built-in mic) > wav > Soundforge > CDWave > split on sector boundaries > flac(6)
Sounds worse at the start but improves a bit after a few minutes.
The Intro is really only the first 1:32 as by that time they were on stage performing the song.
Tape flip after Success, another stop before the 2nd encore, nothing missed.
At the start of track 10 a couple of people shout "Star Test" and "Are you a molecule?". This was a reference to Tony's recent appearance on the show "Star Test" where people are interviewed without an interviewer, the questions being delivered by a disembodied voice. "Are you a molecule" presumably is a reference to something Tony said on the show.
In the encore break before Rockit Miss USA you can hear several people reach forward and press the keyboard (I was one of them). Then after they came back onstage someone pushed forwards and I put my arm out to stop myself falling and pressed the keyboard, accidentally this time. At that point one of the bouncers pushed me against something and I ended up with a nosebleed!

Information:
“Kiss The Goat!”
Two cards selected from the 78-piece tarot card-set as utilised by the most famous occultist of the 20th century Aleister Crowley, were behind the first step.
”The Devil” and “The Universe” were the cards pulled that would prophesize a name for a musical-magical-transcendental composition and transformation project: THE DEVIL & THE UNIVERSE.
Two musician friends, one goal–Ashley Dayour („Whispers in the Shadow“) , David Pfister („Black Manna“) and Stefan Elsbacher set out to create music from magical systems.
They set out to give up their musical creativity and allow the legitimacy of magic and religious mechanisms form musical rules. The process and its system dictated and created not just phonetic anarchy but also examples of sound perfection.
