Gene Loves Jezebel - Rock Garden, London, UK - 24.09.1982 (Flac)

For some strange reason Gene loves Jezebel's Kid jensen session is on the list of posts that have more reads this week (2 years after it was posted...) so here's another early GLJ for those interested.

Original Info File:

Lineage (M1): Tape Recorder (?) > TDK AD-C90 > Yamaha KX-393 Cassette Deck > QED Profile RCA to 3.5mm cable >
Edirol R-09 > Wav (16Bit/48Khz Downsample To 16/44.1) > Adobe Audition 3.1 (Edit start/finish, balance & normalise -1db) > TLH (wav to Flac (level 8)) >
Flac file > CD Wave 1.97 (for splitting tracks - flac 8) > Trader's Little Helper (create md5 / Torrent)

I have edited start/finishes, normalised (-1db) and balanced (Amp statistics - average RMS power) each Wav in Adobe Audition, no other process, straight conversion.

Setlist:

1. Screaming
2. Shaving My Neck
3. Stay Young
4. Undertaker
5. Lifting The Veil
6. Psychological Problems
7. Always The Same
8. Glad To Be Alive
-- Encore --
9. Stay Young

Early Gene Love Jezebel recorded in 1982 with with some rarer songs.
A definite M1 (1st generation) tape.

NoMeansNo - Peel Sessions - 1988-1989 (Flac)

I already had posted the first session in MP3, here's both sessions in Flac. Brilliant stuff. Thanks to the original uploader.

Original Info File:

Peel Session 1,
Maida Vale Studios,
London, UK
1988-05-17
set:
1) Ya Little Creep
2) Body Bag
3) Stop It!
4) Mama's Little Boy

Peel Session 2
Maida Vale 3 Studios,
London, UK
1989-05-30
set:
5) The Day Everything Became Nothing
6) The Tower
7) Brainless Wonder
8) Two Lips, Two Lungs and One Tongue
9) Rags & Bones

This is a pretty rare find. I was only able to come across unknown gen copies
of the NoMeansNo Peel Sessions (after much searching!). I give them to you as
they are. I am hoping this will liberate a lower gen copy. The quality is
ok, I'd say B+. A couple of glitches, but nothing too drastic.

NoMeansNo have only done 2 Peels, and they are both here.
Enjoy, but please:

note: mastered @24/48k by crux

Very Good sound and the setlist includes "The Snake" wich was rarely played live. Thanks to roryglzep for sharing this one on DIME.

Original Info File:

This comes from a vinyl bootleg I likely picked up on one of my many trips to the UK in the 1980's. I suspect it comes from Italy due to all the spelling errors ("Manifactured By", "Previously Unrealeased"). It was on the MANINBLACK RECORDS LTD label, and supposedly limited to 500 copies. It's actually a very nice pressing with about zero surface noise, if you can believe it. Good stuff! Enjoy!

RE-UPLOAD: Chris & Cosey - Paard Van Troje, Den Haag, The Netherlands - xx.xx.1986 (Flac)

Excellent FM broadcast. Thanks to FREDHEADSET for sharing this recording. Recorded and broadcasted by VPRO Radio for the program Spleen.

Exact date unknown but probably June 1986

Chris & Cosey are a band formed in 1981, consisting of partners Chris Carter and Cosey Fanni Tutti, both previously members of industrial music pioneers Throbbing Gristle.

When Throbbing Gristle broke up in 1981, Carter and Tutti signed with Rough Trade Records and began recording as Chris & Cosey. They recorded four albums for the label using electronics, sampling, Cosey's vocals and cornet playing. In 1983, they formed their own independent record label Creative Technology Institute (aka CTI) to release more experimental works and collaborations. The first CTI projects, Elemental 7 and European Rendezvous, were released through Cabaret Voltaire's DoubleVision label.

In the late 1980s and early 1990s, the duo worked with a number of independent labels such as Nettwerk (Canada), Play It Again Sam (Belgium), Staalplaat (Netherlands), and Wax Trax! (USA), and World Serpent Distribution (UK). In 1992, for artistic and health reasons, the duo stopped touring and concentrated on studio work. They returned to performing live in 1998, documented on the Union album.

They have collaborated with such artists as Monte Cazazza, Coil, Current 93, John Duncan, Erasure, Eurythmics, Boyd Rice, and Robert Wyatt. Their 1988 Core album is a collection of such collaborations.

Line up

Cosey Fanni Tutti - vocals, keyboards, electronics, trumpet
Chris Carter - keyboards, keyboards, electronics

From this same gig, the song "Talk To Me" ended up as a track on the 1987 Belgian live LP "Action".

Many sisters fans consider 28.08.83 Amsterdam, Paradiso as one of the best shows The Sisters played. I can not agree, IMHO, this is one of the best shows The Sisters Played, atleast the best show 1983. Band plays flawless, Andrew is on fire and the doctor is on fire as well.
