RE-UPLOAD: Siouxsie & the Banshees - St James Church, Green Park, London, UK - 10.04.1985 (Flac)

Very Good sound. Thanks to the original uploader on DIME.

Original Info File:

A direct rip from the vinyl "All Creatures Great & Small" which was taken fron the sbd with patches, most noticibily part way through Monitor and Israel.

I was fortunate enough to snag a ticket for this gig which had a surreal feel about it especially when the vicar appeared pre gig and asked people not to smoke or to jump on the pughs!!

Maybe out of respect for the setting this gig was more reverential than most Banshees gigs I'd attended.

I have painstakingly removed as many pops and clicks as possible from the vinyl which in fairness was fairly clean.

The Cramps - Astor Park, Seattle, USA - 20.05.1982 + Demos - 1983 + The Tube - 07.03.1986 (Flac)

Ivy's Birthday was last week, here's something to remember us her stunning guitar work.

Original info file:

Very good to excellent sounding soundboard recording sourced from a vinyl
bootleg (= tracks 1 - 11 in the tracklisting given at the end of this description).

I have included some bonus tracks, a set of 4 demo tracks (tracks 12 - 15), which the trader I obtained them from stated were probably made in 1983 (recording location unknown), and which are also from a different bootleg vinyl, plus my own master audio capture of the band's live appearance on "The Tube" (UK TV) on 7th March 1986, probably recorded at Channel 4 UK studios in Newcastle, and an interview with DJ Andy Kershaw on the BBC Radio 1 "Saturday Live" programme on 8th March 1986.

Lineage info :-

Tracks 1-15:  Bootleg vinyl -> unknown record deck -> Nakamichi 3-head dual capstan cassette deck (record) -> TDK-SA (Type II) cassette tape

Tracks 16-18:  Channel 4 UK TV signal -> Roof aerial -> TV [UHF mono FM] receiver -> Pioneer CT-300 Cassette Deck (record) -> TDK-AD (Type I) cassette

Track 19: BBC Radio 1 FM -> Roof aerial -> Pioneer TX-710 Stereo FM Tuner -> Pioneer CT-300 Cassette Deck (record) -> TDK-AD (Type I) cassette tape

Conversion to FLAC :-

Master source tape -> Aiwa Cassette Deck (play) -> SB Extigy soundcard -> CoolEdit Pro 2.1 -> WAV -> TLH -> FLAC 8 & .ffp

No noise reduction or "click and pop" filtering has been used on the tapes of the bootleg vinyl recordings, they have been left exactly as they were recorded originally - in the case of the Seattle tracks, the vinyl surface noise is hardly noticeable anyway, and only a little bit is noticeable at the start of the first of the 1983(?) demo tracks.

Thanks to Bodhi Amol for sharing his rip. This was my first EN post in the blog, but it was an unknown generation tape rip in MP3, so this is a great upgrade in quality. Upgrade 2. Includes now a SBD version of half the concert in soundboard quality.

 Version 1:

Officially sanctioned cassette by bootleg ‘(Ï€+RQ-J6) Tape Production‘
label from Berlin in bronze cover with graphics and lyrical fragments by Singer and Guitarrist Blixa Bargeld.

Very good recording quality, better than most audience recordings!

A09 Einstürzende Neubauten_Halber Mensch--Fleisch+Blut, Haut + Knochen--Der Herrscher und der Sieger   - (Edited, 5 minutes shorter than on audience tape!)

B02 Einstürzende Neubauten_Stimme Frisst Feuer--Wer sagt dass es ist Krieg ist--Durstiges Tier--Schwarz  (In the two minutes of waiting for encore, before a purring cat and bubbling water is superimposed on the audience-noises)

I once had this cassette with nice sandpaper front artwork, but can't find it anymore. The files in 320kbps MP3 i can share here, thanks to the blog "No Longer Forgotten Music", who shared a rip of the whole cassette and made it available again after i asked for it!

This one should be interesting to Ministry fans, since The Blackouts were Paul Barker and William Rieflin band just before they joined Al Jourgensen in Ministry. As a curiosity, Lydia Lunch's 8-Eyed Spy is mentioned in the posted of the concert, but it were The Beakers who played as a support, somewhere inbetween the poster being made and the actual concert there was this line-up change. The Beakers

"The Beakers were a Seattle post-punk band made up of George Romansic (drums),
Mark H. Smith (guitar, vocals), Jim Anderson (sax, vocals) and Frankie Sundsten (bass),
which existed between January 1980 and January 1981. While active, the group only
released a 7’’ titled ‘The Red Towel’ and one track on a local compilation album,
"Seattle Syndrome, Volume 1". In 2004, K Records released the 7’’ along with fifteen
other tracks on the ‘Four Steps Toward a Cultural Revolution’ CD."  Both Smith and
Romansic would go on to form the 3 Swimmers, another great early Seattle band.

The Blackouts

Formed in Seattle in 1979, after the breakup of The Telepaths, the lineup included lead
singer/guitarist Erich Werner (2), bassist Mike Davidson, synth/sax player Roland Barker
and drummer William Rieflin. Shortly after their second release, the "Men In Motion EP",
Mike Davidson was replaced by Paul Barker, Roland's brother.
Playing their final Seattle show in August 1982, the Blackouts headed for Boston. There
they met Ministry's, Al Jourgensen, who produced their last release, the "Lost Soul's
Club EP".  Another move, this time to San Francisco, in 1984, was followed by the
Blackouts' disintegration in June 1985. By 1986, Paul, Bill and Roland had all joined
Ministry.
The remaining Blackout, Erich Werner (2), eventually found his way to The Toiling Midgets
in 1992 which broke up in June 1997.

Siouxsie And The Banshees - The Roxy, London, UK - 26.03.1977 (Flac)

Good sounding piece of history. Thanks to the original uploader.

 Original Info File:

This is Siouxsie's 5th gig!  (or the 4th gig with this lineup).

Don Lett's "The Punk Rock Movie" features clips from 2 different Roxy shows, not this one.
For the record, that movie features Bad Shape from 1977.04.23 (also i compared it and it is
indeed a different performance), and it also features Carcass from 1977.07.21.

Setlist:
01. Captain Scarlet
02. Scrapheap
03. Psychic
04. 20th Century Boy
05. Bad Shape
06. Love In A Void
07. The Lord's Prayer

length: 23:53

Lineup: Siouxsie - vocals, Steve Severin - bass, Kenny Morris - drums, P.T.Fenton - guitar

cass(aud,2nd gen)->wav->adobe audition(noise reduction*)->soundforge(eq**)->CDWave(split on sector boundaries)->flac(6)

* noise reduction-capture profile on a bit of hiss at the start of the tape before the recording started
** eq to brighten up the vocals and to try to reduce some of the distorted bass, I just used the right channel as it was much better than the left. the original tape had got stopped during bad shape but only 1 to 2 sec were missing, I pasted in a piece from earlier in the song to cover it. Removed a glitch from near the end of 20thCBoy. speed correction

This one needed some changes, unfortunately.

xx = released on semi-legal LP 'Love Supreme' and except 'A Love Supreme' also released on semi-legal LP 'Death Party' (this one has nothing to do with the official 'Death Party' release).
See: http://www.gerpotze.com/preachingtheblues/recordings/recordings1983.htm

* Last 11 seconds from track01 merged to track02 as the song already started there (3:22 now).
** Last seconds of this track deleted as 'Fire of Love' already started there (4:01 left).

Additional checksum (MD 5) added.

Rec. Info:
Vivanco EM 160 mic -> SONY WMD6 -> Mastercassette (TDK SA90) -> playback on Harman Kardon CD 491 -> Zoom H2n (at WAV 16/44) -> SD -> HD -> Audacity (edit/remaster) ->
WAV 16/44 -> TLH8 -> FLAC -> DIME -> YOUR EARS AND MIND...
This sounds superb, for the exception of the chatters here and there, epecially on the real quiet track. Voice and instruments are clear in the mix, though I had to balance the
volume on almost every track as well. Anyway, a recording that really deserves the name of a DIMENEW audience master. All thanks to the MASTERTAPER for capturing this some 25+ years ago!

Danielle Dax - an artist on multiple ways of music, paiting and designs. Here's a show from her days of music, maybe the year of her biggest success. The music spins round a bit of
electronic music (Gary Numan style), goth rock like Siouxsie and the banshees as well as upcoming dancefloor like Neneh Cherry. Nothing what would really scratch my mind on the surface,
but it's a nice performance, so why no giving it to you? So, here's the electronic clone to Siouxsie...Hope you like this one...SB.

RE-UPLOAD: The Garden of Delight - The Final Gig - 1997 (ProShot DVD)

Not to be confused with the DVD "The Last Concert". This one is the last concert of the original line-up of The Garden of Delight, wich included Adrian Hates from Diary of Dreams on bass. This was a VHS only release that seems unlikely to ever be official released in DVD. This is a rip of my friend's Whitey original tape, but the sound is in mono, since I didn't own a stereo VHS player at the time...
