ReplyDeleteYou do know, of course, that DNA Lounge gets a board recording of just about every show at the venue and posts it to their page (for a week I think) and also to archive.org (where they live for years and years and years and years)?
If not, now you do.
http://archive.org/browse.php?field=subject&mediatype=audio&collection=dnalounge
Unfortunately, they compress the crap out of the audio. Full on brick wall. So don't expect pristine audio.
On top of that, even though ogg vorbis files are provided on archive.org, know that those are just grabs of the web audio, which is probably a pretty lo-fi mp3.
And a third thing- all recordings are available as a single, 4 or 5 hour file. So if you're looking for a specific performer, you'll have to go fishing for it through the mp3.
And one last thing- the shows are listed on archive.org under the headliner's name, but nobody else who played that night. So, for example, if you're looking for a recording of the time Cattle Decapitation played DNA Lounge, you're never gonna find it unless you know that the headliner that night was Dying Fetus, because that recording is listed only under Dying Fetus.
But with all that said, it's totally awesome of them for putting in the effort to record and post their shows, as I have several of them in my ipod/itunes.
Thanks for the exhaustive explanation. I have some of their recordings from arechive.org also.
DeleteThis one is probably taken from the webcast and track splited. It seems a bit less compressed than the versions on archive, but should be lossy all the way to the source.
Cheers.
