Taper:
S.D well known taper, mainly N.O but also anything around the Birmingham area which is close to where he was living during the mid eighties.Dropped out of the taping/trading scene late eighties with lots of people looking for him!!
He was using a Sony Pro wmdc6, mics unknown although very good. The setlist was fairly standard for this period. The sound is what you'd expect for eqipment of this quality, well balanced and clear, very little has been changed from the original tape, i've just removed a small amount of hiss, S.D was very keen on high speed dubbing and never hid the fact, that was always a bone of contention between us but if you received tapes from this trader then rest assured they were copied at X2 or X4....shame but that's the simple truth.
Gig ends abruptly after Knockin' on Heavens door, obviously there's a fight because the compare starts talking about the fact that the football ground is next-door or maybe he's just arranging a quick 5 a side tournament but i don't think so.

at the end of the gig one of the band members lamped someone at the front across the head with his guitar. not sure who it was or what was going on, but yes, it was an abrupt end. maybe some verbals or a bit more. great gig otherwise - was very full in there.
ReplyDeletethat was Craig hitting some knob'ed over the head with his bass
