Einstürzende Neubauten - Bois de la Bâtie, Genève - 01.09.1984

Free Open Air concert in a park, in the morning. Alex Hacke on guitar. In the evening they perform in Hamburg, more than 1000 kms in distance. "Sand" is a cover of a Lee Hazlewood song. A big THANK YOU to sisteruli for sharing this one from his excellent collection.

Fair sound quality

01 - Zum Tier machen
02 - Zeichnungen des Patienten O.T.
03 - Armenia
04 - Sand
05 - Vanadium-I-Ching
06 - Die genaue Zeit
07 - Neun Arme

Notes: The tracklist on the above mentioned source only lists the first six tracks, but the rest must be part of the show, because "Die genaue Zeit" crossfades into "Neun Arme".

The Sisters of Mercy - Mechanised South America Tour 2009 (Video)

So this is part of my abandoned (for now) MultiCam video project for the Sisters 2009 tour in South America. I took the source videos from YouTube and edited them. The difference between this and other MultiCam videos I've seen it's that for each song, I used only sources of that song in the same concert, instead of using sources of a song from various concerts. I like the "live" effect that creates, even if some sources are a little shaky.

I think these videos are far from done, they can be made better, but I really don't have the time to finish them in a near future, and I have material to make at least 6 more... So maybe, if I finish it, I'll make a DVD, if not, here it is in a fairly good transfer to .avi.

If anyone has suggestions about this, I'm happy to hear them.

A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL YOUTUBE USERS THAT UPLOADED THEIR VIDEOS, too many to list but you know who you are, and without you, this wouldn't be possible.

Enjoy.

The Sisters of Mercy - Uncover

This is the negative of "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" bootleg. There isn't one note in these records played by the Sisters of Mercy. These are most of the songs from other bands that they covered, played live by it's original creators (with the exception of "Bei Mir..." wich it's the earliest live version I found). There's some real gems here (like the 26 minutes version of Sister Ray by the Velvet Underground) and some really cheesy tunes (like the Rubettes "Sugar Baby Love", but it sticks to your ear like super glue, listen at your own risk, since it probably won't leave your head for a month!), but overall it's a real enjoyable listening that should give some insight about the Sisters. What I find amazing it's how similar the Sisters versions are, and at the same time, completely different from the originals and when heard in the setlist of the concerts, one can almost forget that they're covers.

I've chosen the best sounding versions I found in bootlegs. Keeping this in mind, the version of "Silver Machine" it's cut because Hawkwind played it together with "Master of the Universe", since I find that really anoying, I also included in the directory that song, so you can listen to the two in a row without having the sensation of hearing an incomplete song.

CD 1

01. Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb (Nassau 1980)
02. The Rolling Stones - Gimme Shelter (Wembley - 09.09.1973)

The Sisters of Mercy - Life (Flac)

"Life" it's an italian bootleg book about The Sisters of Mercy, with lyrics, a biography, discography and a concert list. It's full of mistakes, but it's a nice item. It was released in 1988 and has the size of a 7'' single. All the copies had a free 2 tracks 7'' single or 3'' CD. Both tracks seem soundboard sourced and there's no info in the book about wich concerts they were taken from. Nowadays it's already known they were taken from two separate concerts in 1985. The image on the post it's the book's cover, since both versions of the disk have plain white covers. The file only has the music. In Flac.

Nikki Louder - Alain, I'm Sorry (Free Album Download)

I was made aware of this band recently. I like them a lot and I think most of you will be into them also. They're very good and are offering the download of their album for free. So, go get it and HEAR IT LOUD.

Some info about them:

NIKKI LOUDER: ALAIN, I'M SORRY
(Cheap Tunes Records / ZKP Radio Student; 2009)
Together since summer 2007, Nikki Louder has played more than 50 shows through Slovenia and the countries of Ex-Yugoslavia. The band was also picked as one of the best new alternative bands in Slovenia and played a short club tour on Klubski Maraton 2008.

They are founding members and part of DIY collective / cdr netlabel Cheap Tunes Records. The band was also invited to be the support act for classy Japanese post rockers Mono and David Yow's (of Jesus Lizard fame) band Qui. The music they play is a very intense mix of sonic post rock and noise excursions, with highly convincing live performances.

After their first release, an EP called Silent Bird (2008 / Cheap Tunes Records), they released their first LP, Alain, I'm Sorry (2009). The record was well received among the critics, picking the album number 2 of »Best Slovenian Records in 2009« by Radio Študent and »Album of the week« in the Croatian e-zine, Pot Lista.

The record comes packed for true fetishists, with a 12'' vinyl and a CD together in one, hand packed gatefold sleeve. The band offers the whole album for free download as well:

The Sisters of Mercy - Popular Creek, Chicago - 12.07.1991

This concert it's interesting, even if the sound it's not so good, because the Doktor crashes during Body and Soul, the band continues playing, making this a unique drumless version of the song. While the roadies try to fix the Doktor, Eldritch sings a capella Stop Draggin' My Heart Around, possibly to buy them some time. It's the first time this song appear in the live set, but it became a live staple during 1992, even if the Doktor didn't crash... In FLAC.

The Sisters of Mercy - Reflections

Now, this is a fan based project that I find amazing! All the thanks to Rico who did this by himself and thought the Room was the ideal place to share it.

So enjoy it, I know I will!

Original TXT:

"Here are 12 hours of sisters of mercy stuff. It has taken me months to assemble this. I tried to assemble a sisters of mercy boxset featuring tracks which, in my opinion, represent a chronological history of the band from 1981 till now. There are nine discs, all with artwork. The Mp3's are all tagged and all the tracks have been cleaned up, levelled off and some have been edited. I hope everyone enjoys this as much as i have making it." Rico

Many Thanks To ultimatesistersguide.org and darkcircleroom.blogspot.com

Fields of the Nephilim - Coliseu do Porto, Porto, Portugal - 06.02.2010

Some of you were asking my impression of the Fields concert in Porto, but for reasons beyond my will, I didn't went to see them... I'm really disappointed.

The persons who were there say that the band is playing better and better, and they played as I hoped a longer set than the ones in Warsaw, mixing the two setlists. The public was a little quiet, but that's probably because they were in shock for having the Nephs finally in front of them. Having listened to this recording I have to really point out the show ender "Last Exit for the Lost" as the standout moment. The sound is good but has some distortion.

A Big THANK YOU to oldnephilim for sharing his recording.
