This LP is entitled "Never Talk to Strangers".  There is no info about the publishing company and the only additional info on the LP reads, "TOM 79". Here is the LP without pop or click removal/EQing/or other remastering. If you want, feel free to remove the pops/clicks or remaster this show, and reupload a fresh copy!
On the cover of LP, it says this performance was on July 27th, 1979, but I believe that date is inacurate. According to tomwaitslibrary.com, as well as etree, this performance was actually on July 26, 1979, so that is the date I am going with. Lastly, I just want to say that this show has a phenomenal live version of Kentucky Avenue. Enjoy!

Festivals Britannia - Documentary (576p)

Continuing the critically acclaimed Britannia music series for BBC Four, this documentary tells the story of the emergence and evolution of the British music festival through the mavericks, dreamers and dropouts who have produced, enjoyed and sometimes fought for them over the last 50 years.

The film traces the ebb and flow of British festival culture from jazz beginnings at Beaulieu in the late 50s through to the Isle of Wight festivals at the end of the 60s, early Glastonbury and one-off commercial festivals like 1972's Bickershaw, the free festivals of the 70s and 80s and on through the extended rave at Castlemorton in 1992 to the contemporary resurgence in festivals like Glastonbury, Isle of Wight and Reading in the last decade.

Sam Bridger's film explores the central tension between the people's desire to come together, dance to the music and build temporary communities and the desire of the state, the councils and the locals to police these often unruly gatherings.

At the heart of the documentary is an ongoing argument about British freedom and shifts in the political, musical and cultural landscape set to a wonderful soundtrack of 50 years of great popular music which takes in trad jazz, Traffic, Roy Harper, the Grateful Dead, Hawkwind, Orbital and much more.

Muse blowing away 50.000 over excited portuguese fans.Unfortunately I was working on night shift, so I missed the first 3 songs of the broadcast. Very good sound but the radio hosts talk a lot, even if mostly inbetween songs. It was also broadcasted on TV so a DVD should be starting to make the rounds.

Notes
Radio broadcast from Swiss Radio DRS3. The concert was
broadcast on 2010-01-01. Editing of radio dj talking in between songs. All talk should be removed now. There were one or two rather rough cuts from one song to the next. I left them as they were.
There is a little background noise that can be heard during quieter passages. It
was part of the broadcast - maybe the ventilation on stage or something like that.
Otherwise the sound quality is excellent.

Taken from my own VHS PAL video tapes, which were taped straight from the original TV broadcasts. Not exactly sure which VCR was used back then, it has long gone ever since.
Although I already did a transfer from the original VHS tapes before back in May 2007, from which I used the 1993 interview, I did a new transfer of the 1992 broadcast as I was not satisfied with the original result. In both cases the VHS tapes were transferred to DVD+R with my standalone DVD-recorder (Philips DVDR 3430V). The original tranfers either from the build-in VCR, or from my now gone Akai VCR through a SCART connection, the new transfer from a SHARP VC-M31 again through a SCART connection. All was ripped to PC with DVD Decrypter as VOB-files and edited to MPEG2 Matroska MKW format using VideoReDo TVSuite.

Used software: DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0 (.VOB) > VideoReDo TVSuite 4.20.7.629 (.mkw)
