The Stompcrash was born in Milan in 2002 as a darkwave project inspired by the gothic stories of writers like Lovecraft, Poe, Kafka. Tales about love and death.
The first album “Requiem Rosa” was released in 2007 as the result of researching melodies and atmospheres to give special emphasis to every story told. The aim of the band was to catch all the energies and emotions felt and put them in songs. “Requiem Rosa” contains some classic like “Dorian”, “The London Fog” and “Like a noise” and achieved great reviews from all the gothic scene all over the world.
After involvements in compilations from Greece, Russia and Germany in 2009 a new song called “The Buried Cat” was released for german magazine “Dark Spy vol. 21” and the same year the band was included in the english goth journalist Mick Mercer’s book titled “Music To Die For”.
In 2010 the band start to look for new musical directions writing new songs and began the collaboration with Alkemist Fanatix Management, in 2011 the agreement with DreamCell11 for a new album is signed.
The Stompcrash is back with a whole new sound, more fine and conscious, 12 new tracks in a new album called “Directions”, an album about love, sorrow, regret, about blood on the wheels of history, about how in life “behind each corner new directions lie in wait”.

Information:

The Swedish post-punk/shoegaze band Principe Valiente mesmerized their listeners with their exceptional self-titled debut album in 2011, resulting in an extensive and successful tour throughout Europe. Having shared the stage with Peter Hook and The Light, Peter Murphy (Bauhaus) and playing at the WGT Festival in Leipzig (Germany), the band started to prepare for their second album "Choirs of Blessed Youth".
Last year a part of their new work was unveiled with the singles "Take Me With You" and "She Never Returned", a collaboration with producer Niklas Björklund and star producer Ed Buller who was responsible for mixing the two singles.
With "Choirs of Blessed Youth" Principe Valiente have managed to make an irresistibly beautiful and intense continuation of what was started in their debut album. Resting in the shadowy arms of melancholy, their re?ned sound glistens with a coating of elegant darkness captivating the listener’s heart.

Information:

“into the sea, we’ll bleed”

Originally formed in the late 80's, The Last Cry hail from the Brighton area of the UK’s south coast. Through several lineup changes up until the early 90's, they forged their way on the Goth scene with their Nephilim/Cult-esque sound as one of the genre’s rising stars. And then, like my Counting the Mad, came the crash.

After nearly a decade of silence, the band re-emerged in 2002 with a rejigged lineup, and a honed and more precise sound. Original drummer Andrew Birch took over the frontman’s shoes, Tim Green exchanged his synths for a Les Paul guitar, with only bassist Chris Carey staying in position. Their brand of dark and atmospheric rock is by no means a dirge, and is easily accessible to anyone with an ear for decent music. Having caught them live recently, I can only describe their sound as ‘imagine what the result would be if the Cure and Depeche Mode were to collaborate’. Birch’s vocals are strong, clear and reminiscent of Gahan and Vanian at times, but the pure emotional turmoil of his lyrics and onstage persona give him the edge over most other performers in his genre. As a spectator to his torment, you can actually feel this man’s pain.

Being a three piece band, The Last Cry are by no means backed my a mere ‘boom boom-kah’ drum track. Their carefully crafted backing machine consists of realistic rhythms, noirish keyboards, and a few vocal harmonies. Being as Birch and Green had previous experience on drums and keys respectively, this has given the band the authenticity of having ‘live’ players on the backing.

If you get a chance to see them play live, don’t miss it! Their debut album “Walking to the Edge” is available online, and is worth every penny. Tracks I recommend are, “Cross of Hope”, “Rebekka”, and the magnificently anthemic “Out of the Sky”. The Last Cry are a band that prove that Goth isn’t dead, it just might have a new nephew on the block.

Information:

Since it was given birth back in 1998 the GOLDEN APES has been known as a shimmering gem in the independent wave- and gothic-scene. It is the difficulty of a rigid definition und their versatility, that provides the band a status stamped by requirement and content, making them an important constant within the musical landscape, that lies beyond the common mainstream.
From the bandname, borrowed from the writings of Friedrich Nietzsche, through to the powerful picture language and surrealistic items, which are basics of the bands oeuvre, conducted by Peer Lebrecht´s poetic lyrics, which are thematically on a restless scout among melancholy and mystic, emotion and philosophy, sustained by catchy but complex arrangements, which avoid to bow to borders and conventions for keeping a emotional depth between melody and emotion, between roughness and longing You can discover every listening in a different new way.
The band has always admitted itself to the significant artists of the scene the members grew up with, but without pointing out someone especial-you will find those moments from time to time listening carefully to the music. Coincidentally by publishing “Denying The Towers Our Words Are Falling From …” at the latest as their current full length album, GOLDEN APES in some ways found themselves emancipated from these influences, but only to create an individual, distinctive own style within that universe.
There are six full-length albums published until now, which show a continuous and passionate development in GOLDEN APES’ work and if you spend some time to engage yourself in the lyrics and the whole band’s cosmos, you’ll find what has ever made the GOLDEN APES unique: a depth and richness of detail, that lets you space for dreaming and inspiration for your own thinking. In this respect, the band not only musically, but also aesthetically and intellectually assigns their individual position in the scene.

Band:

Artaud Seth - Vocals
Jón Tmoh - Guitars
Jawa Seth - Bass

Information:

Completely unphased by trends and inclination for ingratiation to the listener Artaud Seth in his role as mastermind behind the MERCIFUL NUNS continues to traverse his chosen musical path. Produced brilliantly not only in the context of present demands but quite simply seminal for timeless great music. Goth as a mixture of widescreen epic and massive walls of guitar sound, sacred choir chants, rattling drum computer and Artaud's sepulchral voice permeating through every fibre of one's body, at times plunging its intrinsic despair deep into the heart of the listener. MERCIFUL NUNS are much more than just the sole legitimate successor of the three musicians' legendary former band GARDEN OF DELIGHT! The NUNS have already attained cult status and must be regarded as seminal for intelligent listening pleasure!
