Marquee - audience. At the end of Walk In My Shadow there was a section repeated (possibly someone had had it on 2 tapes with a bit of overlap) so I've edited it the best I can, but there's a small click on the edit.
Bay 63 - pro shot ... but appalling quality because it's gone too many generations. Celebrate is particularly bad with a very unstable picture in parts, A Deeper Blue isn't as bad. Someone is bound to have it in better quality than this.

I corrected the other link, so you'll probably want to check yesterday's post to retrieve the real 1985 Detroit concert. This one is also very good. Thanks to the original uploader.

The bands 2nd gig.
Personel:
As for above demos but Dave Formula replaced Bob Dickinson on keyboards
What can I say? This band were phenominal and these early recordings were given to me
by Martin Jackson (Bless you for that, Martin), who I was friendly with for a number of years through to his
Swing Out Sister days. He then relocated and went onto other things. Oh, how we used to laugh...
Anyway, The demos are just that, a raw but controlled run through of material that ended up on their first 'CLASSIC' album,
'Real Life'. The live tracks were recorded at THE club in Manchester that was the home of most of
the early punk activity. The recording was made with a view to having one track included on the
10" vinly album 'Short Circuit:Live At The Elctric Circus' but for one reason or another none of
the tracks made it. For those of you who may not remember the album culled tracks by The Fall,
Joy Division when they were know as Warsaw, Buzzcocks, the brillliant John Coope Clarke, Steel
Pulse and The Drones recorded over the final weekend that the club was open. I am a little dubious
of the date of the recording as on the tape Martin gave me it was clearly written that it was
2nd Nov 1977. But I have seen reference to the album that states that it was October. Anyone with
definite confirmation of which is correct please let me know. I believe it to be the November gig
as Magazine played their first gig in October(28th I think) and their Electric Circus gig was
definitely after that. On the tape he gave me was also the first Peel Session which I have not included
here as it has been officially released on the stunning box set 'Maybe It's Right To Be Nervous Now'.
The quality is pretty good and I'm sure you will enjoy it. I did some artwork but the back cover does contain info
on the first Peel session that I put on my own disc as it was on the orig tape. Maybe you can still use it or rework one.
Share & spread the magic to the uninitiated.

Original Info File:
Opener for Weekend and Grimble Grumble at Part Time Punks' annual My Bloody Valentine Nite. Tropic Of Cancer hail from Los Angeles' shadowy underground venturing out on this evening to display their dark and somber soundscapes. Michael Stock who organized this event asked each band to cover a My Bloody Valentine song and I can't figure out which song in set is a cover though singer announces song two in set as "this is our version of...' and I can't make out the title. This song and final song of set are, for me, their strongest songs of the night though all are growers.
I arrived early to see who I could catch soundchecking through the side door of the club before being allowed entrance. Some dark electronic dance beats caught my attention and I enjoyed portions of what was to be half of Tropic Of Cancer's set. A nice warm-up for my hungry downbeat appetitite. Check out their bandcamp page: http://tropicofcancer.bandcamp.com/track/a-color. While waiting in line after soundcheck a strikingly attired woman cut in front of me to be with her friend. Turns out she was the bass player/keyboardist who is pictured in laced veil with mirror on above link. What's confusing is that Tropic of Cancer on stage are only two gals: the veiled one and who I assume is Camella Lobo (pictured in link with guy) on vocals/keys/guitar whereas the bandcamp page indicates Camella and Juan Mendez. Maybe Juan programmed the rhythms on the Korg? Camella's vocals were drenched in reverb and indecipherable but fit the sound which is what you might imagine The Soft Moon being like at 16rpm or on quaaludes. The bass player's unflinching deadpan expression should land her a job working as a greeter in Disneyland's Haunted Mansion. The star of their show was the ever present fog machine rolling in at precise intervals to allow them a chance to blink unseen.
Attached are a few pictures of their performance.
Apparently their very limited records are hot stuff on discogs: http://www.discogs.com/artist/Tropic+Of+Cancer
Please be aware that my mic picks up a lot of bass and therefore this recording is best heard loud on quality speakers which can replicate a live sound.

This recording was one of my first one and has a mistake, it was recording with AGC(auto gain control)a kind of limiter that when the sound is high the limiter cut the signal for avoiding distortion so it´s like the volume goes up and down...... but it´s very listenable......
Remastered a bit triyng to fix this and improve the sound.

Again Thanks to Egg_Crisis for this recording.
Cassette(Audience,1st gen,EMI XT C90) > wav > Soundforge(normalise uneven L&R channels-see below*) > CDWave(split on sector boundaries) > flac(6)
*Unfortunately the cassette is a poor quality one, and it'd been re-used quite a few times before being used to put All About Eve on it which hasn't helped, and the quality has deteriorated.
Parts of the left channel kept suddenly dropping off or fading out, then the volume vould increase again suddenly, or fade back in, doing it in different places in the left channel compared to the right. I used mainly the left channel which was the better of the twp, and used parts of the right channel when they were better than the left.
There's a bit of hiss in a few parts where I had to increase the volume for the really quiet parts, but it's quite listenable and only gets really bad for the last 3 minutes of track 9 and the first 3 minutes of track 10 which had faded very badly in both channels so there wasn't a lot I could do with them. I included a 2nd version of the final 2 tracks, dehissing(Adobe Audition-hiss reduction-high) the quiet parts so people can choose which they prefer.
Since the flacs are mono they're half the size that they would usually be.

This was the 258th upload of my concerts collection recorded in Lyon (France) between 1982-1990.
MY BLOODY VALENTINE, irish band based in London, were recorded at le Truc[k] of Lyon-Vénissieux on march 1989.
I was using a very basic system for recording :
soundboard outputs + a couple of ambiance mikes (Sennheiser) standing in front of the scene mixed, on-the-fly, with headphones on 4-tracks desk to a Sony cassette TDC5M .
Notes :
My friend Julien let me use his Nakamichi DR-3 (God bless him !!) , cause my old tape reader died definitively ....
I'm currently trying to numerise all the last tapes from my old boxes as quick as possible since some days ...
But, i took a break, in my slave work, with this new numerisation of "My Bloody Valentine" Lyon tape.
First upload on Dime on february 2008 (LTC #268), i was really amazed by the number of uploads and comments !
I must admit (sorry...) that this band is not my cup of tea ...and sincerely, i tought my recording was completely failed cause the voices are very blurred in the mix ... But no, it's the way they sound ...
So, enjoy it !!! for the second time ....
Artwork : 2 different covers included (thanks to Pololasi & Rufy)

@Notes
Excellent concert in a beautiful venue (a kind of theatre with an automatic opening roof) in the center of this awesome city. The opening acts were Black Nail Cabaret from Hungary (the lead singer reminded me of Siouxsie Sioux) and De Vision (recording coming up!). Strangely, the name of "De Vision" was highlighted in the venue's front and not Covenant :P
"The Beauty and the Grace" must be one of the best synthpop songs of the last years. Absolutely perfect. Overall, the sound was very good and the public responded very well. It was a great night.
@About the recording
Recorded from the right side of the standing area, about 10m from the stage.
@Note from the taper
Thank you for downloading my recording.
This recording was uploaded for the first time in the torrent site http://www.dimeadozen.org, a great site for sharing lossless ROIOs. In order to preserve it as it was originally shared, please try to avoid conversion to other lossy formats as MP3. You can see the benefits of the FLAC format in the link below:

Feel free to to redistribute this recording, but don't forget to keep all the files (info.txt, .md5, etc.) included here, this way everyone will be able to have access to the original source, just as you did.

Another CD with demos and alternate versions, most of them are already in other bootlegs posted here, with the exception of NRUB, that is probably the strangest bootleg mix, since it's Burn played backwards, enable that way to hear the lyrics of the song, since they're originally backwards on the song... Ministry – InCaseYouDidn'tFeelLikeShowingUp - Live! [1989/DVD-NTSC]
Laser disc edition, incl. covers and FLAC audio tracks. With upgraded audio and menu. Thanks to Š†©kmªÑ for this version.
Somebody was looking for the laser disc edition of this famous "behind the fence" show.
So here it is. Time to upgrade your long time circulating VHS rip.
Not my rip, but certainly worth the upgrade. The picture resolution from laser disc is much better than VHS. It makes a much more interesting contrast in between the live show self and the TV sequences, when watching the program.
If you like this show, watch it again from laser disc edition. It will make your day complete!
And if that's not enough, FLAC audio is also incuded in this package.
