SilentWay's comments:
I found this incomplete recording behind another show on one of dimenew's tapes.
According dimenew it's questionable if it's a soundboard. Personally listening I think it is.
The recording starts chaotic, but levels during the 1st track. You can hear the sound gets manipulated,
so the soundboardman is at work. It's not the best soundboard around, it is what it is. I graded it a B+ (7/10).
I boosted the sound during Israel where the volume takes a dip, to get a more outlined volume level.

The recording lasts only 32 minutes and cuts out during Happy House.
So I guess a C-60 tape was involved, but was forgotten to get flipped.

Many thanks to SilentWay for posting this on his Floppy Boot Stomp blog.

Siouxsie & The Banshees - Wired ITV session (Granada TV), UK - 19.08.1988 (Flac)

Here's another UK TV session, this time one of the Peepshow era.
The session was done for Wired ITV Granada, North West England
The session was to promote 'The Killing Jar' single, the song they take off with.
The second song 'Burn Up' is a feast for the eye. Jon Klein plays his guitar using
a golden vibrator. You can (now) watch the footage on Youtube, it will be included
on a SATB compilation i'm planning later this year. Enjoy the audio for now!!

NOTES:

I have no patience for festivals any more; at least, not the huge outdoor
kind. For your more civilised indoor affair, however, I'm still willing to
make the effort. Events such as Crossing Border, Cross-linx, Motel Mozaïque
and Le Guess Who can be very rewarding, providing the opportunity to soak up
multiple bands in a single evening, both scratching the itch to catch
long-time favourites and exposing one to the work of artists that might
otherwise go undetected for several more years.

Tonight, we add a new event to the short list of worthy festival causes. This
one is called Grauzone and tonight is its very first edition.

The organisers of Grauzone have this to say about it:

"GRAUZONE is a young and ambitious, multi-disciplinary festival. The
festival will present the best in 'new wave' music and art: with a musical
spectrum spanning synth pop, electro, cold/darkwave, post-punk, death/goth
rock and more; while featuring films, exhibitions and DJ's.

GRAUZONE is a one-of-a-kind festival that unites the best of past and
present, of fame and obscurity; where classic influential bands perform
side by side with young upcoming acts."

Sounds good, doesn't it? Well, it does if you happen to find yourself plotted
somewhere along the axes of that musical spectrum, and I certainly do.

As it turns out, In the course of the evening, I actually never get to see the
media room, any of the films being screened in the cinema or any of the
lesser-known bands performing in the Oude Zaal. It just so happens that all of
the bands I want to see this evening are playing in The Max, one after the
other with short enough breaks that I'm not inclined to risk sacrificing
taper's pole position for the sake of satisfying my curiosity elsewhere.

So, for me, it may as well be a normal gig with three bands on the bill,
albeit one with unusually generous support slots lasting an hour.

Second up this evening are The Chameleons, nowadays operating with
singer/bassist Mark Burgess and drummer John Lever as the sole survivors of
the classic line-up. This fact is reflected in the use of the moniker
Chameleons Vox or even Chameleons V.

Whatever the incarnation and name, this band are the main reason I'm here this
evening. I like A Certain Ratio and dig Echo & The Bunnymen even more, but The
Chameleons have a few songs in their bag of tricks that never fail to produce
that spine-tingling gush of 'Fuck, yes!' every time I hear them.

'Looking Inwardly' is one of those songs. Right from the intro, as the jangly
riff that is the song's bedrock gathers steam and slides into place atop the
crescendo of rolling drums, my blood rushes and my pulse quickens.

The band sound terrific. From the first effects-drenched notes of 'Swamp
Thing' until the end of the set, just over an hour later, the excitement never
lets up. I'm struck by how many English-speakers there are in tonight's
audience. I suspect a lot of people have flown over for the gig.

'Singing Rule Britannia (While The Walls Close In)' is seized upon by Burgess
for an impromptu lyrical medley, featuring brief chunks of The Clash's 'White
Riot', Joy Division's 'Transmission' and The Fall's 'Rebellious Jukebox' (and
possibly even others I didn't recognise).

We are treated to 65 minutes of flanger/chorus bliss, and that in spite of a
late start. The set closes with 'Second Skin', whose plaintive mood makes it
the perfect song to leave on.

Even without the inclusion of 'Up The Down Escalator', I'm more than
satisfied. "We want more", shouts someone on behalf of the rest of us, but
there's simply no time for more. The room is already running behind schedule
and the stage must now be reconfigured for the evening's headliners.

The recording is all I had hoped it would be. If you've already sampled my
recording of Echo & The Bunnymen's set, you know what awaits you. If not,
samples are provided to help you decide whether this is worth the share ratio
depletion for you.

MARS is a pagan folk brotherhood from southwest Germany. It was founded in 2011 by Marcus S. and soon joined by Oliver F.

The music of MARS consists of primarily acoustic instruments like guitar, various percussion, flutes, field recordings and human voices. The idea is to evoke a primordial spirituality that is increasingly lost in our post-modern, materialistic society.

The lyrics of MARS draw inspiration from ancient European mythology and spirituality and are a poetical expression of the universal cyclic law.

MARS express their pagan sensibilities via music, artwork and performance. Live performances are thus considered to be rituals to awaken primordial energies and a possible return to archaic pathways. MARS does not support any organised religions and cults because ultimately – ‘every man and every woman is a star’.

MARS support ecological consciousness in the choice of food, clothing and general lifestyle. We prefer natural material to artificial, and traditional handmade confection to industrial production. We also support domestic production instead of outsourcing.

The visual artwork of MARS’ releases is done by like-minded artists who support our vision of a re-spiritualization of the world and broaden the given spectrum.

MARS is born out of the Northern European consciousness because the connection to the own ancestral roots and heritage is always the strongest. This does not mean exclusion but an offer to share and interact with other international pagan individuals. Therefore we use the internationally known English language to communicate.

Information:

Folk, classical, balladeer and medieval linked with experimental, electronic sounds! Hekate is hybrid music: the crossover of historical and modern style elements to a multi-faceted music style!

The band was founded in 1992 and since that time it has produced seven albums. The involvement with old myths, legends and fairy tales is the typical, the own Style of Hekate and reveals the rooting and cultural background of the band.
Besides, archaically seeming rhythms, trance-like and ritual elements underline the spiritual character of the music and the intention to take up the concealed wishes, longings and dreams of the listeners.

The most intensive way to understand the band’s concept is the experience of a live gig. The music lives on a rich instrument choice, the alternate singing of Axel Menz and Susanne Grosche and the common understanding and harmonious teamwork of five musicians.

In the end, the name Hekate, the goddess of the underworld, represents the intention of the musicians: to move mystic, secrets, myths,… in powerful manner.

Parzival - Russian/Danish neo-classical / dark bombastic / martial act based in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Beschreibung
Parzival was formed in 1992 in Copenhagen, Denmark by vocalist Dimitrij Bablevskij and 3 fellow russians.

Having left Moscow around the breakdown of the iron curtain and settled for a new future in Denmark, Stiff Miners got signed to Cleopatra Records in USA, who released their debut album ”Giselle” in 1995.

Stiff Miners played a lot of shows in Denmark and abroad before signing to danish TBA Records, a sublabel of VME (who they stayed with every since), and released their second album ”Vox Celesta” in 1997.

In 1998 the band changed their name to Parzival, and with a changing line-up based around main man Dimitri Bablevskij, Parzival have released 6 albums and is now ready with their seventh album ”Urheimat”. Furthermore, Parzival has been touring and playing festivals in different parts of Europe, a.o. two times at the legendary Wave Gotik Treffen in Leipzig, Germany.

The music on ”Die Kulturnacht” is a slight chance to their previous three albums, which were more in the EBM/industrial vein. The new album have more in common with ”Blut Und Jordan” (2001), with it’s compositions of bombastic neo-classical music and dark bombastic darkwave/martial.

On ”Die Kulturnacht”, Parzival have even recorded with 37 classical musicians from Prague delivering strings, brass and woodwinds for this recording. Furthermore a 7 piece danish/russian female choir is also present on several of the tracks.

Lyrically, the album deals with the writings/theories of Bal Gangadhar Tilak from India. Especially the book “The Arctic Home in the Vedas”.

Line-up: Dimitrij Bablevskij (vocals, programming, keyboards), Oleg Naumov (drums, percussion), Jens Hansen (keyboards), Michael Hedelain (drums, percussion), Tim Ellegaard (bass).

Information:

By the sound - a very good gig for Evi and the band -  I Let You Leave went awesome - Reach Out originally written for The Eden House a very moody rendition. Also check the Naevus recording with Ben McLees and Sam Astley.
The Sad point on this the first band started well belated (around 45 minutes) so all others had to shorten the Sets (Naevus one track, Evi at least 1 track and Encore).

Band:

Matt Howden! :)

Information:

Matt Howden was the hard-worker on this Festival, he did some guest appearances during Naevus and Sol Invictus too. On his Sieben gig he performed some new songs from Each Divine Spark, his new album released on 2nd February 2014, and a cool performance of an old Nick Cave song "Brother My Cup Is Empty" where he turned the violin to an E-Guitar.

For those who listen first to "Sieben" just a explanation to understand the recording or what happened on stage:
Every note and sound and also percussive sounds and also the drumming - he made all the
sounds using (or abusing ;-) ) his violin on the concert, looping + building them up in a foot pedal operated sampler. EVERYTHING IS LIVE!

Information:

Sol Invictus projects the dark obsessions and humour of its founder Tony Wakeford.
Tony's career began in the punk group Crisis, before progressing through Death In June to the formation of Sol in 1987.
Tony has also worked with other artists including Current 93 and recorded with Andrew Liles and Steven Stapleton of Nurse With Wound and the ambient musician and artist Tor Lundvall.
As well as these collaborations he has also recorded several albums under his own name, the most recent being "Not All Of Me Will Die" released by the Israeli Eastern Front label.
Tony's other more recent projects include the neoclassical Orchestra Noir, and The Triple Tree.
Tony's pessimistic vision of humanity and inhumanity is a very singular one, and he has maintained it by remaining the only permanent member of Sol, bringing in combinations of other musicians as required for each album or performance.
