RE-UPLOAD: David J - Teatro José Lúcio da Silva, Leiria, Portugal - 17.10.2019 (Flac 24/96)

Thanks to ziggyswoon for letting me share his recording here.

Original Info File:

Marvellous show!! My first time at a David J concert and i enjoyed it big time. It was a small audience for a big venue but the room was filled with good vibes and so was the show. Beautiful arrangements, great sound, David in a good mood and a great house sound. My recording is untouched i listened to it and decided to leave it as it is because it sounds great to me.

Second show by the Furs in Portugal and a very good one. Touring World Outside an album that i like a lot and unfortunatelly is underrated. The band kick in with Only You and I and left with Forever Now without an encore but delievered 17 powerfull songs.
I recorded this with my old Sony TCS-300 and it turned out to be not one of its most brilliant recordings but it is quite listenable i think.
It is the first time i convert my master to digital format the only trades were done at the time and on tape and i don't have a clue on how much this show has circulated.
This is a clean copy from the Master.

Tape story:
This is my first recording "abroad" (I mean, out of Italy).
The venue is a small club at Lisbon port area.
I arrived early so I could check the spot with the better sound, about 10 m from the stage.
People completely into the show with acceptable clapping and someone at my left singing (very good!) the first Closer tracks.
Another very good recording but again (as in Roncade) several small dropouts appeared.
I am sorry for this because in the meanwhile I have taped Depeche Mode, Editors and Franz Ferdinand without problems... seems Peter Hook has a "special" effect on my equipment.
Since I have found the mic's cable severely twisted, maybe my occasional movement (I was taping, but I was also into the show) were "registered" as excessive tension by the cable plugin... just an hypotesis.
Anyway the problem is limited to only four tracks (5, 13, 16 and 18) and the quality of the recording has been substantially preserved.

What about the show?
It was my second Peter Hook And The Light show in two months (the first one was the Movement/PCL set in Roncade, taped too).
I flew to Lisbon just in the afternoon and I enjoyed a 2-day holiday in this fine and friendly town.
I have decided to give me a chance to attend to the Unknown Pleasures/Closer set because I missed it in Italy two years ago and I feared this was one of the last chance to catch it... at a reasonable distance.
As a matter of fact I have really appreciated the previous show and my positive feeling was confirmed by this one.
Another quality show, with one of the longest setlist ever (32 live tracks).
Peter Hook And The Light has won the challenge with its genuine passion (more than a tribute band) and offers 2 hours and half shows at an unusual low price (less than 20 euros in Roncade and 25 euros in Lisbon).
I have never thought to listen Decades played live by one of the original JD members (that songs really moved me and is worth the money spent for the flight and the hotel).
And it is my great pleasure to share this recording with you.

Technical notes:
- The total running time of the recording was 2:56:32; I have cut the first 4:44 mins of intro recorded music from PA and the last useless 6 secs reducing the master firstly to 2:51:42.
- Secondly, I have amplified both channels (+9.0 dB)
- Thirdly, I have divided the recording in three separate parts, "New Order" set (0:39:08), "Closer" set (0:43:51) and "Unknown Pleasures + Encore" set (1:10:02), deleting about 15:15 and 3:25 mins of recorded music from PA between the three sets.
- "New Order" set: I have faded-out the last 10 secs.
- "Closer" set: I have faded-in the first 5 secs and faded-out the last 10 secs.
- "Unknown Pleasures + Encore" set: I have faded-in the first 5 secs and faded-out the last 10 secs.
- If you burn to audio CD, you will need 2 CDs, but I suggest 3 CDs (CD1: 01-08; CD3: 09-17; CD2: 18-34)

Please do not sell nor convert to mp3 for distribution (mp3 only for personal use!)
Feel free to share in the way you prefer, but please share this fileset as originally torrented (so preserve file integrity!)

Original Info File:

This is a nice venue for concerts but i always had trouble recording here.
Only with this recorder i was able to pull a recording like i wish i did in other concerts at the same venue. I like it.
The concert was a blast because it was weird, intense, magic, intimist. Peter talked a lot because things between songs were not working inside the band. Leading to some strange and hilarious moments on stage. But when the music started things were intense and filled with emotion.
The inclusion of a second guitar for this line up is a blessing and the right move. Songs gain a new life. Peter's voice goes to other dimensions. and the songs get all the emotion, rawness, power, beauty they deserve. I loved every second of music in this show.
The new songs are great pointing us to a new album that should be one of the best Peter has done in years. Let's hope it sees the light of day soon.
I would like to ask if there are any other recordings of the european dates from this tour flying around and if so could someone upload it here or point a direction?

RE-UPLOAD: Nitzer Ebb - Festival Entremuralhas, Castelo de Leiria, Leiria, Portugal - 29.07.2011 (Flac)

First concert from Nitzer Ebb in Portugal! After waiting more than 20 years to see them live, I could not miss it, and decided to take the MD with to capture the experience and share it here with you. The audience was a little quiet nd the setup (a stage on a castle surrounded by trees) was  not the best for this kind of music, but the band was in top form. The setlist was ccut short of one song (I Give To You), maybe because the concert started at midnight or maybe because of the audience, I don't know, but it was a pity.

The setlist was a good mix of songs from the "Industrial Complex" album and older hits, all in all an excellent experience.

The recording is exactly as it came out of the MD, I just splitted the tracks on Audacity. The sound is good with very clear vocals and a (very) little distortion on the drums, wich I quite enjoy since it gives it an extra kick. There's a couple of drops on "Murderous", probably because I had trouble staying quiet during that specific song, and the disk skipped while recording.

I included a self made artwork and somes photos if you want to do your own.

RE-UPLOAD: The Young Gods - Paradise Garage, Lisboa, Portugal - 19.09.1998 (Flac)

Very good sound, crowd is going bananas sometimes, you'll listen it on the recording from time to time. Huge Thanks to Ziggy for sending it to me for sharing on the blog.

Original Info File:

The Young Gods playing in a small packed venue in Lisboa presenting a few songs that would be released on Second Nature (03, 04, 06, 08 and 11). I was there and remember it being a good intense show. It was the first show i attended with Bernard on drums. The songs sounded good but he did not make me forget Üse (he was a hell of a drummer) on this gig.

Siglo XX - Festival Extramuralhas X, Teatro José Lúcio da Silva, Leiria, Portugal - 30.08.2019 (Flac 24/48)

Last show of this mythic band. Thanks to ziggy for sharing.

Original Info File:

"It's All Over Now!!"

This is Siglo XX closing chapter!! From here it's all over now. This was very emotional because it was their last concert and also because i was able to witness live one of my iconic bands of all time... never thought this could happen. But it did and it was a blast because the band really surprised me with their muscled sound and performance. Enjoyed every second of it.
The recording came out nice and i did only a bit of EQ mostly treble.
Enjoy and share.

Test Dept.- Festival Extramuralhas, Teatro José Lúcio da Silva, Leiria, Portugal - 30'.08.2019 (Flac 24/48)

Excellent. Thanks to ziggyswoon for sharing.

Original Info File:

Test Department bringing the house down with a full performance of their latest "Disturbance". Test Dept. is another band i thought i would never be able to see live ever. They have only been to Portugal once in 1992 to a festival named Citemor but according to a few who were there it was not so good. Well, this time was! And even if this new life of the band is not the large collective from the past they are still true to what TD was and are taking it to new levels. It was a sonic and visual blast. The electronics are more present but the raw power of the songs and the poignancy of the themes still are the focal point of TD.
I was not able to figure out names of track 4 and 9. Track 4 sounds familiar to me so it must be an older track. Track 9 is produced with excerpts of Donald Trump's speeches and even if some of the ambiance of the track is not unknown to me i take it as a new track.
TD are touring the US from September 12 2019 go see them if you can.
Meanwhile enjoy this :-)
Cheers
