Music For Misfits: The Story of Indie - Episode 1 - "The DIY Movement" (MKV)

Broadcast on BBC4 HD, 2nd October 2015

"BBC Four tells the definitive story of indie music with a series about the wide-ranging genre loved by young and old, across the decades. The three-part documentary series charts the evolution of alternative music: from its inception in the late 1970s, to the boom of the genre in the 80s and its demise in the 90s, following the mainstream success of its Britpop successor. The series features the best songs of the era, archive video footage and exclusive anecdotes from the people who were there.

The opening episode of the series explores the origins of the UK’s alternative music scene, with the emergence of independent record labels and the eclectic sound hubs they spawned in cities across the country."

Cabaret Voltaire - Paradiso, Amsterdam, The Netherlands - 24.09.1980 (Flac)

FM Recording. Superb sound quality

Lineage: TDK AD60 -> Tapedeck Yamaha KX-493 -> Soundblaster AWE32 -> Wavelab 4.0 -> TLH -> FLAC 6 -> Dime

Tracklist:
01. Kneel to the boss
02. This is entertainment
03. On every other street
04. Seconds too late
05. Here she comes now
06. No escape
07. Western mantra

Original Notes:
A rare cassette of this performance exists (C-45) with three more songs on it ("This Is Entertainment", "On Every Other Street", "Western Mantra"), but it's not an official release, I think. And it's of lower quality. So this tape transfer is worth an update.

dimenew's cassette states 1980-04-24 as date of the gig. Anybody out there who knows the right date definetly ?

Have also a look at:
http://www.ele-mental.org/~ecc/exo/industrialexchange.html

Do not buy or sell recordings and go to the shows !"

Nothing to add except on the lineage of this upload :

traded tape - audacity - trader's little helper (flac 8) - Dime

Enjoy

RE-UPLOAD: Cabaret Voltaire - Old Grey Whistle Test, Sheffield University, UK - 17.12.1985 (ProShot DVD)

Industrial Pioneers Cabaret Voltaire in a rare TV appearence. Thanks to Verity for sharing his capture on DIME.

Whistle Test
BBC 2 TV
Sheffield University
England
4:3 PAL DVD
December(?) 1985

1. I Want You
2. Hells Home

Lineage:  TV>VHS>(possible extra VHS stage)>Panasonic DVD Recorder (2 hour mode)>Womble MPEG Video Wizard (Trim video and author basic DVD, no re-encoding)

Notes:
Sorry, exact date unknown, almost certain it was sometime in 1985 and the credits refer to Live Aid highlights being broadcast on the New Year's Eve show, so its likely this was broadcast in December.
45 minutes of googling and I couldn't find anything more concrete than this.
If anyone can help with the date that would be great. Credits are rolled over Hells Home and this fades out.  Possible extra VHS stage - I consolidated some VHSs in the early 90s and I can't remember if this was one of them.
