Duration: 1 hr 31 mins.
Personnel:
Ralf Hütter: Minimoog Model D (2), Vako Orchestron, mixer
Karl Bartos: Electronic Percussion
Wolfgang Flür: Electronic Percussion, photo-electric light-activated drum cage
Florian Schneider-Esleben: ARP Odyssey (2), Votrax VS-6 "talking typewriter", electronic flute-synth device, mixer
Set List:

2. Airwaves
3. The Voice of Energy & Die Sonne, Der Mond, Die Sterne
4. Kometenmelodie
5. Tongebirge & Tanzmusik
6. Autobahn
7. Mitternacht
Notes on the show:
Yet another AMAZING find that's now just come to light. This is a master tape from the France Inter archive of the FULL l'Olympia show! We only had 21 mins from the 'Somewhere in Europe' LP and then 38 mins from a rebroadcast in 2015. This is the complete show from a radio programme called "We're Going Out Tonight" with no radio DJ talking over the music or tuning. Very likely recorded before being broadcast on the radio. HUGE thanks to Babass_ and J.T. for helping to curate this incredible concert. Of special note is Florian's use of the Votrax VS-6 "Talking Typewriter" as Karl put it in his memoir for "Die Sonne, Der Mond, Die Sterne." No adjusting has been made but if anyone wants to improve on what's here, feel free!
Enjoy this folks!

Radio broadcast. AM radio.
There were 2 recordings of this gig in different quality - both from AM radio, the other had more bass but this has much more clarity and less hiss. I used 2 min 42 seconds from the other version (with a little bit of noise reduction to lessen the hiss) that had been missed during the tape flip (last 1:04 of Iki Maska/first 1:38 of my Way). That's a lot missing, maybe the taper had left the room and didn't realise the tape had ended. I also added a missing 20 sec at the start and 12 sec at the end to make it as complete as possible.

Cassette(aud,master,TDK D90,recorded on Saisho PS 35R with built-in mic) > wav > CDWave > split on sector boundaries > flac(6)
Poor quality due to either not enough power in the batteries or it was too loud / too near the speakers, possibly both but most likely the batteries. In the absence of a better recording of this gig someone's bound to want it. For completists only, don't say you weren't warned.
The first instrumental song is called "The Thrash". This was either read off the setlist or someone asked a band member, again it's too long ago to remember which. In setlists for this period Roseofavalanche.com has the song titled as "Darkorjan". I remember when the "In Rock" album was released the band weren't too happy as the record company used a bunch of unfinished session tapes so I assume Darkorjan to be a working title, so I'm going with "The Thrash" as being the correct title. (Oh and I just saw on ROA.com that that winter tour was called "Winter Thrash Tour", so that makes sense.)
There's a cut 0:46 into Always There caused by someone moshing into the tape recorder.
Tape flip between King Of Fools & Too Many Castles.

RE-UPLOAD: Marillion - Sessions, Demo's and Outtakes - 1980-1982 (Flac)
Thanks to appick for sending me this compilation to share here, and to the original uploader that assembled it.
Original Info File:
Lineage:Various c90 cassettes>cdrw>steinberg clean version 3>cdr>flac (level 8 encode)
Found various Marillion demo tapes lying around and thought i would transfer them to cd.
The first 3 tracks are from a session with the original vocalist Doug Irvine. Sound quality
was quite poor due to the age of the tape and with quite a lot of tape hiss.
Track 4 was the first time Fish sang on a recording by the band. Legend has it that he saw an
advert for a vocalist which he answered and they sent him an instrumental version of The Web.
Onto this tape he overdubbed the lyrics he had just written and the sent it back to the band.
The rest is history (as they say)
Tracks 5-7 are demos by the band and are all different versions of the songs.
Tracks 8-9 are rehersal songs with I Know What I Like developing into an argument within the band.
Tracks 10-11 are BBC Friday Rock Show sessions, another track was broadcasted (3 Boats Down From The Candy)
but sound quality was very poor so i left it off this collection.
Track 12 was an EMI studio session and i have checked with the versions officially released on the Script
double album and this isn't there so i have included it here (this version has a different intro).
I was hoping to include Grendel (EMI studio session) but it sounds very similar to the one on the
Script album so i left it off.
All tracks have been cleaned using the Steinberg Clean Vers.3 computer programme and it has improved the quality no end.
Some tape hiss is still present but no where near as bad as before i cleaned them. Hopefully it won't spoil
your enjoyment as some of the tracks are quite historical.

The second Neubauten and the third Sonic Youth and The Meat Puppets on 05-Jan-85. The audience was brought to the performance place in the desert by 6 busses. Filmed excerpt available on the "Liebeslieder" video. Alex and Boyd Rice have a joint performance in which Alex pummels Boyd's chest with rocks while he's lying on a bed of nails.
I got this tape of unknown generation in a trade in the 2000s and digitized it using Audacity in 2015.
I had no idea of the set list above whe i did this and decided to seperate the tracks by the aural impression, that's why there are more tracks in my version, especially i created two distinct tracks of Blixa speaking...
Enjoy!

Thanks to super team Egg_Crisis and TravisBickle1963 and the taper Shaun M. for making this recording available. Sound is very good.
Cassette(audience,unknown but presumably low gen,TDK AD90) > TravisBickle1963 transfer to .wav > Soundforge(normalise,editing) > CDWave(split on sector boundaries) > flac(6)
Tape flip before Herman Heiss Er but with a few sec overlap so it could be joined.
Original tape flip before No More Ego, and another before What it Is.
At 3:20-4:37 (Closing seconds of Zarah/start of TV Glotzer) the left channel went quiet and muffled, I copied the right channel as that was ok. Also there's a couple of cuts in this section - it sounds like there was a problem with the tape in an earlier generation.

Originally broadcast on a UK TV program called Cue The Music (forget which channel, but I suspect 4).
VHS>HDD as WAV>conversion to FLAC level 5 with Xact>You
Another I recorded from the telly one night.
I did blackle for the program, as the presenter was a total dick, but turned up no results.
I cut out all his inane, patronising drivel & commercial breaks & competition spots.
Being a TV broadcast, the set's not complete &, unfortunately, Partner In Crime cuts in quite sharply & the very End of Holy War is lost. Otherwise it's a SBD show.
1. New church
2. Eat your heart out
3. Livin on lovin
4. Dance with me
5. Johnny too bad
6. Russian roulette
7. Bad timing

9. Partner in crime (cuts in)
10.Goin' Downtown

13.Holy war (slight cut at end)
Please don't share it in lossy formats, but feel free to share as is & with this txt file included, Thanks.
Enjoy.
Cheers.

Nick and the seeds firing up a full coliseu. I was there and i remember all the excitement in the room and Nick with his head full of steam lead the band and the crowd through an amazing night.
Don't know anything about equipment and i got my tape through a trade and on one of its labels says tape is generation 2. This is my first transfer to digital of this tape it was traded back in the days of snail mail but i have never seen it floating around.
Enjoys and share.
Cheers
