The Rose of Avalanche - In Rock (LP)

In Rock was supposed to be a 4-track single, however Fire were frustrated with the band being unable to deliver an LP for release. Therefore against their wishes the record company added a couple of session tracks, plus a re-working of an earlier B-Side: "Just Like Yesterday" ("Yesterday Once More") to bring the track numbers up, enabling them to release it as an album, the third from the band and first to be release in the U.S.

The Sisters of Mercy - Floodland Demos (Flac)

This demos of the "Floodland" album are very stripped down and raw versions of songs you all know. The sound is closer to the Sisterhood than the finished album, and this document serves as the missing link between the two of them. Of special interest is the long instrumental song "Untitled", wich is not the same as the "Untitled" on the Dominion EP, and contains some parts that would became the basis for "I Was Wrong", featured in the Sisters next album "Vision Thing". The "This Corrosion" demo was actually done in other sessions, still with the Sisterhood, so it's not here, I'll leave that for another post.

A must listen for any Sisters fan. It deserves to be presented in .flac, so that's the format.

1. Dominion
2. Flood I
3. Lucretia
4. Neverland (complete version)
5. Untitled
6. Driven Like the Snow
7. Flood II

Peter Murphy - Festival Sudoeste, Zambujeira do Mar, Portugal - 03.08.2002

Another concert in Portugal, this time Peter Murphy. I have to admit that I liked the concert in Festival Marés Vivas in 2008 more , because it had lots of Bauhaus songs, but this one was great also. Peter says Portugal is the Moon in his cover of David Bowie "Space Oddity"... Must have been affected by the clear night sky of Alentejo! Good sound, even if the bass its a little distorted.
Thanks to Diego from Durmientes for sharing this first!

The Sisters of Mercy - Top Rank Suite, Brighton - 01.04.1985

From the original poster's TXT file:

"This and the Whistle Test TV show, are the final two performances of founding member and original guitar player, Gary Marx, with The Sisters of Mercy. The final concert he played was the last night of the UK tour, on April 1st, 1985, at the Top Rank Suite in Brighton. The next day, he performed his very last rite in front of the BBC TV cameras for the Whistle Test, the band turning in rousing renditions of two songs from their first LP.

This recording of the Brighton concert is a flawed, but nevertheless enjoyable soundboard recording taken from discs 2 & 3 of the triple vinyl bootleg set, "Through The Years". I've cleaned it up thoroughly, but here and there some surface noise remains. I chose not to go to extremes in trying to get rid of the extraneous noises, lest I should compromise the sound quality of the actual recording. There's a sample from "Train" that should give you a good idea of what to expect. The performance is excellent throughout, with particular highlights being Amphetamine Logic, the trip down Memory Lane with Floorshow/Alice/Body Electric completely seguing into one another, and the juggernaut ride through Sister Ray/Ghostrider/Louie Louie (too bad the sound quality of the final encore is inferior to the rest of the gig - but still!!! Too bad it's hard to make out whether Gary Marx really did throw his Anaconda-guitar to the stage standing on top of the stacks...)"

The Cure - Werchter 1981 - Video

This is the same The Cure concert I shared some time ago in audio, the one with the looooong "A Forest" version and the Robert Palmer incident. VHSrip with nice quality (given the source and age, of course...). Robert Smith dressed in white is something you're not used to, for shure.

1. Fire in Cairo
2. Play for Today
3. A Forest
