October 1986 and Smithsmania was at it's peak I had the bug bad, travelling to Canada to see them in
Toronto in the summer being a stunning highlight. It seemed as though the band had been touring
almost non stop for 3 years and it is truly remarkable to look through the amount of shows they performed. So, on the one hand, the live act had been honed to a considerable degree, on the other, fatigue and tensions were creeping in, but there was no hint that a couple of months later the band would perform live for the last time at the very same venue and despite recording the last (and best) album "Strangeways Here We Come" the following year, well, the rest is history.

Had some issues with this tape,it is marked Mixing Desk, and could very well be,judging by the low audience noise, Side A was fine, just needed a very minor boost to the right channel but Side B was very uneven, with lots of hiss on Morrissey's vocal, particularly on "Cemetry Gates" so i have remixed it using more of the channel that had less hiss...

I know this circulates in a few different versions, a couple do not include "Cemetry Gates" on them
maybe because of the noise issue, a complete version was upped at smithstorrent many years ago
but, i do not know how this new transfer compares. eternal thanks to the original taper.
