RE-UPLOAD: Chris And Cosey - Batschkapp, Frankfurt, Germany - 26.05.1987 (Flac)

The Chris and Cosey re-upload was quite populart so here's another recording of them. Sounds is quite good.

The official website lists the concert of Frankfurt on the 27th, may the date of the info file is wrong or it's the concert in Arnhem on the 26th. Maybe someone has aditional info? Thabks to parasit for sharing on Dime a long time ago.

RE-UPLOAD: Ghost Dance - N.E. London Polytechnic, London, UK (First Gig Ever!!!) - 29.11.1985 (Flac)

Huge Thanks to Egg_Crisis for this excellent share. The band plays a version of TSOM Poison Door.

Their first gig, and one of only two gigs they played in 1985.  An excellent audience recording (the recording levels were a fraction too high, but that doesn't matter so much with analogue recordings... and a nice loud recording means no hiss).  Because the levels were still nice and high this is probably low gen.  I only ever saw this at a record fair once and if the person selling the tapes had the master this could be as low as 1st gen, but that's being optimistic, 2nd gen might be a more realistic guess.  Also it's a generation better than one commonly circulating version which came from a copy of my copy.

Cassette(Audience,unknown but probably low gen,TDK D60,from a record fair in March'88) > wav > Soundforge(normalise uneven L&R channels) > CDWave(split on sector boundaries) > flac(6)

Cassette(unknown but probably low gen,radio broadcast,TDK D90) > TravisBickle1963 transfer to .wav > Soundforge(normalise,editing) > CDWave(split on sector boundaries) > flac(6)

I had a dilemma over how to track this - the radio DJ's talk over many of the intros - I could have put the track splits after the DJ's finished talking but in the end I decided to track it as if the DJ's aren't there so the intros of each song aren't cut weirdly.

Tape flip between track 11 & 12.

The tape is labelled 22.7.86 but this page confirms Paleo Festival as running from 24th-27th July:
https://yeah.paleo.ch/en/edition/1986
Setlist.fm (although it's user-generated and prone to error like everything else) gives the date as July 24th so we'll go with that one:
https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/nina-hagen/1986/la-prairie-de-colovray-nyon-switzerland-6bc056b2.html

The sound in the right channel dropped very quiet for 48 seconds (from 35:15-36:03), I replaced it with sound from the left channel. (30 seconds of this is the DJ talking anyway.)

"Was Es Ist" from the album "Angstlos" was played during the post-gig chat, so I removed it.

RE-UPLOAD: The Cassandra Complex - Mensa, Aachen, Germany - 25.03.1986 (Flac)

Thanks to Dimenew and TimeBandit for sharing this recording on DIME.

Original Info File:

Rec. Info:
Vivanco EM 160 mic -> SONY WMD6 -> Mastercassette (TDK SA90) -> playback on Harman Kardon CD491 -> Zoom H2n -> WAV 16/44 -> Audacity (edit/remaster) -> WAV 16/44 ->
TLH8 -> FLAC -> DIME -> YOUR EARS AND MIND...
All thanks to DIMENEW for this really fine recording, done some 26+ years ago. A bit of annoying audience chatter, but the music is well captured!

---
The brainchild of Mr. Rodney Orpheus, the Cassandra Complex were one of the first bands of the gothic electronic underground in the mid to late 80's. Their music was strongly
influenced by german electronica of the 70's, as well as occult lyrical themes. The band is still active today, just have annouced a tour in November 2012, which will lead them
- at least - to Hamburg, Berlin, Leipzig and Prague. More dates are likely to be added... I remember I liked their 1988 album, and the song DEFCON1 was a huge success on the
independent dancefloors at that time. Did see them once around that time at Osnabrueck's fomous (old) Hyde Park, but the show was far too loud and the songs were played at almost
twice the speed of the vinyl. I left during the show... Anyway, nothing of that can be heard on this recording (though I guess it was loud!), and I know you will enjoy some early
Cassandra Complex...SB.
