The Slits - AJ's, Lincoln, UK - 29.07.1978 (Flac)
Thanks to Egg_Crisis foe sending me this recording to share here.
Cassette(audience,unknown gen, from Camden market seller 1992) > wav > Groove Mechanic(dehiss) > wav > Soundforge(eq to bring up the vocals a bit) > wav > CDWave(split tracks on sector boundaries) > wav > flac(6)
Lineup: ARI UP-vocals, VIV ALBERTINE-guitar, TESSA POLLITT-bass, PALMOLIVE-drums
The tape had no date. I first posted this in 2007 (along with the Edinburgh show from the previous night) as "May/June 1978" which was my best guess and someone had a list of tour dates and the correct date was quickly found.

ReplyDeleteThanks 4x Great posts. Any 1979 show with Budgie ?
ReplyDeleteThanks for this. Great Blog.
ReplyDelete... found this after trying to find out the exact date i saw the Slits (supporting The Rich Kids) at AJ's Lincoln ..... funny to think that one of those voices shouting out from the audience that night was my own - almost 40 years ago !!
ReplyDeleteJust Watching a documentary about the slits. Took me back to seeing them at AJ's.
ReplyDeleteMe and my mates handed out flyers on Lincoln High Street before the gig and at first AJ's refused to let us in for being under age but they relented when they realised we'd been promoting the gig for them. I also remember my mate trying to get Glen Matlock to sign his 'Never Mind the Rich Kids' t-shirt.
