Tom Waits - KPFK Sessions, Studio City, CA, USA - 1973-1975 (Flac)
Thanks to thr original uploader on Dime.
Original Info File:
This is a truly fabulous and interesting collection of early Tom Waits’ radio shows that includes music and interviews during a period of about a year and half; around the time of his first couple of album releases. Fascinating because you can actually hear audibly the metamorphosis of Tom from a struggling musician into a star. His singing style change is remarkable and his growing confidence is obvious. The earliest stuff doesn’t sound at all like the Tom we know and love. The change in his voice is amazing (smoking and drinking does take its toll, lol). Tom’s interviews are very interesting as he tells the background stories of the songs, kind of a pre-Storytellers thing. Don’t miss this one if you don’t have it. Enjoy
