Day three from 21st WGT in Leipzig, where i taped in the Felsenkeller:
- Aura Noctis
- Jordan Reyne
- Evi Vine
- QNTAL
Third day with concerts on Wave Gotik Treffen at the Centraltheater (formerly known as 'Schauspielhaus').
Beautiful venue. If you want to listen to bands with very good sound on WGT this is the place to be.
One reason to visit WGT this year was Evi's gig and this went one of the best acts for me.
They showed off with the full live band and the concert wandering between intimate songs and epic soundscapes, the last part of "How Time Flies" just melting you away.
Evi's shows are announced spontaneously somewhere in Europe and if you get the chance to see her don't miss it. Small club gig or on venues like the Schauspielhaus everytime a complete different experience.
This quote says it all: “Her vocal’s break your heart into a thousand pieces in a similar way to Hope Sandoval” - Pennyblack Music
Evi Vine's debut album "... and so the morning comes" was nominated as one of the best independent releases of 2011, considered "an underground gem" by Drowned In Sound & championed by Simon Raymonde (Bella Union) & BBC 6 Music.
“This is a brilliant record, Evi deserves all the praise landing at her door” Simon Raymonde - Bella Union/Cocteau Twins
“In all likelihood ‘and so the morning come’s will be one of those under the radar successes. Her next might be the Mercury. Sit back put your headphones on and let her sing you, you won’t regret it.” - God Is in the TV
“Evi Vine’s debut is many things; gorgeous, ethereal, haunting, twisted, dark and above all absorbing. It is a truly wonderful record.” - Ark Mag
“Evi delivers an album of uncompromising sparseness and beauty. The exiguous guitar rattles of ‘For The Dreamers’ evoke a stripped back Mogwai” - Subba-Cultcha
